Important Information Regarding Volunteers and Guests at Galbraith
Dear Galbraith Community,
As you are likely aware Lethbridge School Division has recently implemented a vaccine procedure. The procedure states that effective November 1, 2021 if a volunteer or guest comes to our school or will have contact with our students or employees, they must be fully vaccinated or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen screening test or PCR test completed no more than 72 hours prior to commencing the volunteer activities.
In support of this procedure, we are asking you to voluntarily provide us with your vaccine status prior to the next time you are volunteering at the school. If you would rather not share your vaccine status with the school, we understand. We will accept proof of a negative COVID test that was completed no more than 72 hours prior to commencing the volunteer activities if you would like.
Below are definitions for fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated and unvaccinated:
Fully Vaccinated
Having received two doses of a vaccine considered valid by Health Canada in a two dose COVID-19 vaccine series, or one dose of a vaccine considered valid by Health Canada in a one dose COVID-19 vaccine series; and, b. Having fourteen (14) days elapsed since the date upon which the person received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine considered valid by Health Canada of a two dose series, or one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine considered valid by Health Canada in a one dose vaccine series.
Partially Vaccinated
Having received one dose of a vaccine considered valid by Health Canada in a two dose COVID-19 vaccine series; or, b. Have received the dosage series (typically two doses) but fourteen days have not elapsed since the date upon which the person received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine considered valid by Health Canada of a two dose series, or one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine considered valid by Health Canada in a one dose vaccine series. Unvaccinated
Unvaccinated
Not being in compliance with either definition of fully vaccinated or partially vaccinated as noted above; you have not received any vaccine doses considered valid by Health Canada.
Please be assured that if you choose to share your vaccination status with us (or the results of COVID tests), we will treat the information confidentially including ensuring it is deleted at an appropriate time and limiting the number of people who have access to it.
Parents and guardians are exempt from this procedure if they are at the school for purposes clearly related to their child’s education (e.g. meeting with teacher to discuss learning needs) and in a setting where students are not present.
